Profiling tools give quick yet profound insights into an individual's personality traits that otherwise remain hidden or unnoticed. Personality assessments provide foundational information that helps both employees' and employers' growth.
My company uses this scientific personality profiling methodology known as Process Communication Model® (PCM) Personality Profiling. Taibi Kahler developed the model to identify and understand our personality and people with whom we interact and communicate mutually.
We use it for a variety of professional purposes:
- Career growth
- Recruitment
- Organizational development
- Leadership development
(PCM) Personality Profiling® is often our starting point. We find it a very accurate assessment of an individual personality and communication traits. The resulting information is robust and helps us get faster and better results.
These are some examples of how we use the information and the benefits it has for both professionals and companies:
- More self-knowledge leads to better (career) choices
- More self-awareness leads to increased self-leadership
- Better communication leads to improved negotiation (and leadership) skills
- Better talent acquisition leads to talent retainment (and cost reduction)
“PCM offers a deep insight. I became a better leader through personality inclusion. I was able to confront my own bias, appreciate my positive strengths, and adapt the way I lead, involving all colleagues to contribute and succeed.” M. S. - FMCG
What is PCM® (Process Communication Model®)?
Process Communication Model® (PCM) is a psychometric method based on transactional analysis, also called the theory of personality or communication theory, which depicts a persons´ psychological structure.
Your personality is unique
Have you ever taken a personality test to find out you don't fit 100% into any category? Here's why.
You are a combination of types. PCM® differentiates six personality types: Harmonizer, Imaginer, Perseverant, Promoter, Rebel, and Thinker. Each type has its traits when it comes to:
- Character strengths
- Personality needs
- Perceptions
- Communication channels
- Personal bias
No personality type is better than the other. You carry all six profiles within your personality formula, but not all six with equal weight throughout your life.
You have a Base personality and a Phase personality. Everyone has a dominant personality type, which is more potent in you and remains your base for life.
PCM® also determines a Phase Personality Type, which you are currently experiencing. This Phase type determines your primary sources of psychological motivation and reveals your most probable reactions when experiencing distress.
Goals: The goal is to get a professional assessment of an individual candidate. (PCM) Personality Profiling® assesses their personality, behavior, communication and interpersonal skills, communication style, and development opportunities.
Results: PCM® profiling identifies the personality structure (the map and selection process used for thinking, evaluation, and decision-making) and how it manifests in personality, individual perceptions, and decision-making. It helps us understand how people function and express their personalities through their behavior.
Based on the analysis, we're able to identify their personality profile, potential, and the best approach for:
- Effective communication
- Successful relationships
- Stress management approach
- While providing an insight into how an individual expresses his personality through his behavior.
Process Communication Mode personality types: According to the (PCM) Personality Profiling®, there are six personality types, each reflecting typical personal characteristics, with:
- Specific advantages, needs, and motivation
- Their distinctive way of perceiving the environment and communicating
- Predictable behavior in stressful situations
Based on an individual's personality structure, (PCM) Personality Profiling® helps individuals understand and develop the ability to self-knowledge, self-awareness, understand people around us, and establish relationships.
** Example: How do you relate to colleagues at work?**
We all have people we like and those we can't stand from day one. Sometimes we get to choose, and even then, we mess up. We load relationships with unconscious personality bias. That's to say, traits that operate in the background and condition even your "most logical decisions" or your "strongest determination" to make a relationship right.
Let me give you an example. Take a moment to consider: which affirmation describes best the type of people you can't stand? "People who are:
- weak, lacking a backbone
- robotic and rigid
- immature and childish
- lazy and slow
- preachy and righteous
- ruthless and self-centered
Why do you think that? How did you come to this conclusion? The answer is in your unconscious bias; however, the impact is visible in how you relate to each other and treat them.
How did you come to this conclusion? How does it affect the way you treat them? PCM® profiling develops your ability to understand and communicate with each other.
Implementation: Process Communication Model® requires a participant to rank various responses to the question asked. With forced ranking, a person chooses only those answers which correspond to them, at least to some extent. Participants are allowed to rank only five of the six responses. A single evaluated statement, the PCM model, compares with all other rated statements.
An individual needs 45 minutes to perform a questionnaire through online access. We will complete the personal profiling of the candidate online while providing an email link to the PCM® questionnaire, with all instructions included.
Delivery: The implementation of PCM® profiling based on this offer includes an individual personality competence profile in the form of a PCM Personality Profile Inventory Report, including two-hour feedback for the candidate (one-on-one feedback with your coach).
Your report is about 30 pages long, and it includes your personality (competence) profile attached. It explains your personality structure and outlines a concrete action plan with recommended activities for business and personal areas.
We construct his feedback to be a positive and future-oriented step for the individual and provide an additional added value to the organization (when applicable).
When we do this for a corporate client, we share two versions: one for the employee with individual feedback and one for the organization attached to the client debrief, in hard copy.
Certification: We are certified coaches for the use of the Process Communication Model® (PCM®) profiling methodology.
